The Tri-West cross country teams competed in the Sagamore Conference meet this past Saturday. Running on a wet and hilly course with high winds and cold temperatures, the Bruins continued to show improvement from the start of the year. On the girls side, Tri-West was led to a 3rd place team finish by Brooke Snoeberger who finished 10th to earn 1st team all-conference honors for the second straight year. Erin Cox garnered 2nd team all-conference recognition with a 13th place finish. Jessica Kennedy, Alyssa Stacy and Ashley Burket rounded out the scoring for the Lady Bruins, who finished just 1 point behind Frankfort for second place. Madison Warden and Erin Boles also ran in the varsity race and both finished in the top 30 for scoring runners. The individual race was won by freshman Maddy Hurt from Crawfordsville with North Montgomery winning the overall team prize with an impressive showing of 5 runners in the top 15. Sydney Terrell ran in the JV race and finished 5th overall!!
The boys team finished 8th in their overall race. They were led by Chris Wright. Cory Hagemier and Matt Knights were close behind with Brett Lucas and Eli Schabel rounding out the scoring. Alec Warden and Robby Stumph also ran in the race for the boys.
The team will host Bethesda in their final regular season meet on Tuesday night and then travel to South Putnam High School on Saturday morning for their sectional meet.
